Clear aligners with a team Mustang patients already trust — 700+ Google reviews.
Most people find aligners easy to wear and hard to notice in conversation.

A straighter smile that fits your life

Invisalign straightens teeth with a series of custom-made, clear plastic aligners. Each set moves your teeth a little at a time, and you switch to the next set on the schedule Dr. Barnes gives you. A new set feels snug for the first day or two, then it loosens up as your teeth move.

Because the aligners come out, you can keep eating the foods you like and brush and floss the way you always have. There are no brackets to bond and no wires to tighten. We offer Invisalign for both teens and adults.

Straight teeth aren't only about looks. Crowded teeth are harder to keep clean, and a bite that doesn't line up can wear teeth down. Patients come to our Mustang office from Yukon, Tuttle and southwest Oklahoma City for Invisalign.

Are you a good candidate for Invisalign?

Good candidates have healthy teeth and gums (or get cavities and gum problems treated first), have most of their adult teeth, and are ready to wear aligners nearly all day. Some bite problems need more than aligners, such as large jaw differences or teeth that need major rotation. If that's true for you, Dr. Barnes will tell you honestly and talk with you about your options, including a referral to an orthodontist.

The Invisalign process in Mustang, step by step

  1. Consultation. Dr. Barnes looks at your teeth, gums and bite and asks what you'd like to change. Any cavities or gum problems are treated first, so your teeth are healthy before they move.
  2. Digital scans, not putty. We map your teeth with a digital scanner instead of goopy putty impressions, along with photos and X-rays.
  3. Your custom treatment plan. Dr. Barnes plans your tooth movements step by step from the scan, and you can see the planned changes before you start.
  4. Your aligner trays. You pick up your first sets of aligners and learn how to wear and clean them. Small tooth-colored bumps (attachments) may be added to a few teeth to help the aligners grip.
  5. Check-ins. You visit from time to time so Dr. Barnes can make sure your teeth are moving as planned and give you your next trays. These visits are usually quick.
  6. Retainers. When your teeth reach their new positions, a retainer keeps them there. Wearing it as directed is how you keep your new smile.

Why patients choose aligners

Hard to notice

Clear aligners are hard to spot in conversation or in photos.

Removable

Take them out to eat, to drink anything other than water, and to brush and floss.

No brackets or wires

Nothing to break and no wire adjustments.

Easy to keep clean

Brushing and flossing work the same as always, which helps protect your gums during treatment.

Good for active people

No metal on your teeth. For contact sports, ask us about a mouthguard.

Invisalign vs. braces

Both clear aligners and traditional braces can straighten teeth. Which one fits you depends on your teeth, your bite and your habits.

  • Looks: aligners are clear and hard to notice. Braces use brackets bonded to your teeth.
  • Eating: aligners come out, so there are no food rules. Braces mean avoiding hard, sticky and chewy foods.
  • Cleaning: with aligners you brush and floss normally. Braces take extra time to clean around.
  • Discipline: aligners only work while you wear them. Braces stay on, so they work even if you forget about them.
  • Complex cases: some severe bite problems are better treated with braces by an orthodontist.

Dr. Barnes will tell you which one makes sense after your exam.

Wearing and caring for your aligners

  • Wear time: as general guidance, the American Association of Orthodontists says clear aligners work best when worn about 20–22 hours a day, or as your dentist prescribes. Teeth only move while the trays are in.
  • Take them out to eat and to drink anything other than plain water.
  • Brush before you put them back in so food and stains aren't trapped against your teeth.
  • Rinse and gently clean your trays daily with cool water. Hot water can warp them.
  • Use the case. Most lost aligners get wrapped in a napkin at a restaurant.
  • Keep your checkups and cleanings during treatment.

Your Invisalign timeline

  • Consultation: Dr. Barnes examines your teeth and bite and takes a digital scan. Any fillings or cleanings are done first.
  • Your plan: your aligners are made from your scan, and Dr. Barnes gives you an estimated timeline for your case.
  • Each new set: you switch trays on the schedule Dr. Barnes gives you. Expect pressure for a day or two with each set.
  • Check-ins: short visits here in Mustang, often in the same visit as a cleaning.
  • Refinements: some smiles need a few extra trays for fine-tuning near the end.
  • Retainers: teeth can drift after treatment, so you’ll wear a retainer to keep your results.

What affects the cost of Invisalign in Mustang

Comprehensive Invisalign treatment at Buffalo Creek Dental is $5,200. Dr. Barnes will confirm your plan after your exam and digital scan. What can affect your plan:

  • Whether one or both arches are treated
  • Any dental work needed first, like fillings or a cleaning
  • Refinement trays, if your teeth need extra fine-tuning near the end
  • Retainers after treatment
  • Your dental insurance orthodontic benefits

After your consultation you'll get a written treatment plan that lists every fee before you decide.
