If dental visits make you anxious, laughing gas (nitrous oxide) can help you feel calm and comfortable so you can get the care you need.
Dental anxiety is common, and it keeps a lot of people from getting care until a small problem becomes a painful one. At Buffalo Creek Dental, we start with the basics: listening to what worries you, explaining each step and agreeing on a signal to pause. For many patients, that and good numbing are enough.
When you’d like extra help relaxing, we offer nitrous oxide, also called laughing gas. Dr. Jon Barnes will review your health history and medications to make sure it’s a good fit for you.
– Local anesthesia. Numbs the area being treated. You’re fully awake and aware, but you shouldn’t feel pain. Used for almost all treatment.
– Nitrous oxide (laughing gas). You breathe it through a small nose mask. Within minutes you feel relaxed, and you stay awake and able to talk with us. It wears off quickly once the mask comes off.
– Comfort basics. Clear explanations before each step, breaks whenever you need them, and a team that never rushes you.
